Everything Works

This morning I unsoldered the amplifier and took it over to Atlantic Hammond and Leslie to see if that is where the vibrato problem was. It was sent out to an electrician who checked over the whole amplifier and found that one of the tubes and a resistor were bad. They were replaced and I picked up the amplifier tonight.

I soldered it back in and started up the organ. It worked fine without Vibrato, like before, but barely at all with Vibrato on (worse than before), and the pedals and reverb weren’t working at all. I was worried that I had melted a capacitor or something while re-soldering it. After a break I came back to it and unsoldered it again. There are a lot of wires, and some are the same color. After spending a few hours looking at schematics, the pictures I took before removing it, and following wires through the organ, I found out that I had reconnected it incorrectly.

After everything was reconnected, I started it up again and it worked. Now every feature on the organ works nearly perfectly, and it might be time to work on making the wood look better. Everything Works Wednesday, February 22, 2006 After removing the vacuum tubes I unsoldered all of the connections and removed the amplifier.
